Our Approach

What Makes CYME Copenhagen Special?

CYME Copenhagen was born out of a passion for creating timeless, high-quality designs that can be cherished year after year. With a focus on premium materials, we strive to create designs that not only last but also maintain their style in the fashion landscape. Our commitment to responsible fashion is evident through our collaboration with carefully selected and certified suppliers who share our vision of ethical production.

Accessible Luxury
We exclusively sell our collections through our website. By bypassing traditional retail markups, we eliminate a part of the supply chain, ultimately offering you luxury at a more accessible price. This direct-to-consumer approach allows high-quality fashion to be enjoyed by a broader audience, supporting our mission of mindful consumption - encouraging investment in fewer but better-quality pieces that stand the test of time.

Consciously Produced
We collaborate with certified suppliers who share our commitment to responsible practices. Our suppliers ensure good working conditions and responsible sourcing of fabrics and yarns. For instance, all wool used in CYME collections is certified and mulesing-free, guaranteeing the welfare of animals throughout the supply chain.
We strive to use natural materials whenever possible, avoiding unnecessary synthetic fibers and focusing on quality fabrics that feel good against the skin.

Our Suppliers

Our Suppliers

We collaborate with high-end suppliers who specialize in premium textiles and yarns and stay current on modern methods and production techniques. This focus ensures our products consistently meet high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Furthermore, our suppliers share our commitment to good working conditions and responsible sourcing - values we consider fundamental in today’s fashion industry.

We currently produce in Portugal and China.

Portugal
Near Porto in northern Portugal, we produce our woven styles - shirts, denim, trousers, and satin pieces.
This factory specializes in woven fabrics and is run by a skilled, family-led team with years of experience crafting high-quality garments.
The facility continues to evolve and has recently opened modern, expanded premises that support future woven developments.
We visit the factory approximately every six months and always value meeting the talented people who work there.

China
In Shanghai, our knitwear is made by a specialist factory with deep expertise in fine-gauge merino and cashmere. We produce in China for two reasons: the team’s proven craft - precise tension, clean linking, consistent finishing - and the proximity to key cashmere regions, which keeps yarn development and garment production close to source.
The factory also produces for several well-known designer brands, and we’re proud to work alongside them. Their team pairs technical excellence with a genuinely kind, collaborative approach - qualities we value deeply in a long-term partner.

The change we want to see

In a world where fast fashion and ultra-fast fashion brands are on the rise, we at CYME Copenhagen have chosen a different path: the slow-fashion path - because we take time.

This decision is based on our belief that buying less but of better quality is the best choice for both the environment and for our wallets.

We prioritize good working conditions throughout our supply chain and ensure that when using animal fibers, the welfare of the animals is excellent, supporting only responsible wool sourcing.

By designing, developing, and selling exclusively through our own channels, we avoid large seasonal collections and retail markups, ensuring that you can access responsible luxury goods at a more accessible price point.

Our Materials

At CYME, we use a variety of different textiles and yarns. We carefully choose based on the principle of using the most natural materials possible, while also aiming for maximum comfort and durability in our styles.
We believe that the best thing we can do is to buy less, but better clothing that we can appreciate and use year after year.

Merino Wool (Mulesing Free and Certified)

Merino wool comes from the Merino sheep and is known for its fine fibers, making it incredibly soft and breathable. Our Merino wool is mulesing free, which means the sheep are not subjected to the painful mulesing process. Additionally, it is certified, ensuring good animal welfare throughout the production chain.

Cashmere

Cashmere wool comes from cashmere goats, typically living in the cold highlands of Mongolia, China, and Tibet. This wool is extremely soft, lightweight, and warm. Cashmere is known for its luxurious feel and fine texture, making it one of the most sought-after materials in the world. Our cashmere is certified, ensuring sustainable and ethical practices throughout the production chain.
We also have a QR code attached on selected pieces that you can scan to trace the origin of the yarn back to its source.

Cotton

At CYME, we use several different types of cotton:
Organic Cotton: Grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, protecting both the environment and the farmers.
Recycled Cotton: Made from cotton waste from production and consumption, reducing waste and the need for new resources.
Supima Cotton: An extremely luxurious type of cotton grown only in the USA, known for its extra-long fibers that provide a softer and stronger fabric. This type of cotton constitutes less than 1% of all cotton worldwide, making it both rare and sought-after.

Lyocell

Lyocell is a modern textile made from cellulose from sustainably grown trees, such as eucalyptus. The production of lyocell uses a closed-loop process, where almost all solvents are recycled, minimizing environmental impact. The fabric is soft, durable, and has antibacterial properties, making it ideal for a range of clothing styles.

Viscose

Viscose is a material made from cellulose, typically derived from wood pulp. Viscose is known for its silky feel and its ability to absorb color well, resulting in vibrant and durable colors.

Elastane

Elastane, also known as spandex or Lycra, is a synthetic fiber known for its remarkable elasticity. It can stretch up to five times its original length and then return to its original shape. At CYME, we include a small amount of elastane in certain styles, such as our Denim set and CC Top, to ensure flexibility and mobility, making the clothing both comfortable to wear all day long and able to maintain its shape.
