The Mission

CYME Copenhagen was born out of a passion for creating timeless, high-quality designs that can be cherished year after year. With a focus on premium materials, we strive to create designs that not only last but also maintain their style in the fashion landscape. Our commitment to responsible fashion is evident through our collaboration with carefully selected and certified suppliers who share our vision of ethical production.

Our Approach

What Makes CYME Copenhagen Special?

The word "Cyme" originates from the world of botany and refers to the natural and harmonious blooming in plants. Our name, CYME Copenhagen, is therefore no coincidence. We draw inspiration from nature, whether it's a lush green forest, evening walks by the beach, or sheep grazing in open fields. Creating clothing with respect for our surroundings is important to us, and we are committed to continually improving and becoming even more responsible.

In a world where fast fashion and ultra-fast fashion brands are on the rise, we at CYME Copenhagen have chosen a different path: the slow-fashion path. This decision is based on our belief that buying less but of better quality is the best choice for both the environment and our wallets. We prioritize good working conditions throughout our supply chain and ensure that when using animal fibers, the welfare of the animals is excellent, supporting only responsible wool sourcing.

So how do we do it?

To us, a luxurious wool sweater only feels good if the sheep or goat whose wool is used have a good life. While this may not be standard in the industry, we are proud to guarantee that all wool in any CYME collection carries the RWS (Responsible Wool Sourcing) certification—we simply won't produce it otherwise. On selected styles, we even include a QR code that allows you to trace the yarn's origin.

We collaborate with luxury factories that, in addition to being highly skilled, also share our ethos. These partnerships ensure that every step of our production process upholds the highest standards of craftsmanship and ethical practices.

Our Materials

At CYME, we use a variety of different textiles and yarns. We carefully choose based on the principle of using the most natural materials possible, while also aiming for maximum comfort and durability in our styles. We believe that the best thing we can do is to buy less, but better clothing that we can appreciate and use year after year.

Merino Wool (Mulesing Free and RWS Certified)

Merino wool comes from the Merino sheep and is known for its fine fibers, making it incredibly soft and breathable. Our Merino wool is mulesing free, which means the sheep are not subjected to the painful mulesing process. Additionally, it is RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified, ensuring good animal welfare throughout the production chain.

Cashmere (RWS Certified)

Cashmere wool comes from cashmere goats, typically living in the cold highlands of Mongolia, China, and Tibet. This wool is extremely soft, lightweight, and warm. Cashmere is known for its luxurious feel and fine texture, making it one of the most sought-after materials in the world. Our cashmere is RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified, ensuring sustainable and ethical practices throughout the production chain. We also have a QR code that you can scan to trace the origin of the yarn back to its source.

Cotton

At CYME, we use several different types of cotton:
Organic Cotton: Grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, protecting both the environment and the farmers.
Recycled Cotton: Made from cotton waste from production and consumption, reducing waste and the need for new resources.
Supima Cotton: An extremely luxurious type of cotton grown only in the USA, known for its extra-long fibers that provide a softer and stronger fabric. This type of cotton constitutes less than 1% of all cotton worldwide, making it both rare and sought-after.
Conventional Cotton: Traditionally grown cotton, which plays a minor role in our production but which we aim to phase out completely over time.

Lyocell

Lyocell is a modern textile made from cellulose from sustainably grown trees, such as eucalyptus. The production of lyocell uses a closed-loop process, where almost all solvents are recycled, minimizing environmental impact. The fabric is soft, durable, and has antibacterial properties, making it ideal for a range of clothing styles.

Viscose

Viscose is a material made from cellulose, typically derived from wood pulp. Viscose is known for its silky feel and its ability to absorb color well, resulting in vibrant and durable colors.

Elastane

Elastane, also known as spandex or Lycra, is a synthetic fiber known for its remarkable elasticity. It can stretch up to five times its original length and then return to its original shape. At CYME, we include a small amount of elastane in certain styles, such as our Denim set and CC Top, to ensure flexibility and mobility, making the clothing both comfortable to wear all day long and able to maintain its shape.

Inclusive Sizing

Embracing diversity in size, we are continuously expanding our inclusive size scale to accommodate more. Each size is meticulously measured, ensuring a superior fit for diverse body types.

Ethical Craftsmanship

Our designs are classic, timeless, and always crafted with high quality and ethical production in mind.
